Welding, Cutting & Surface Preparation — Welding Consumables
Electrode E309L-16, 3.2 mm, 350 mm, 2 kg Pack
E309L-16 electrode for welding stainless steel to carbon steel (dissimilar metal joints) and cladding applications.
Product Overview
AWS E309L-16 over-alloyed stainless electrode for dissimilar metal joints between austenitic stainless and carbon or low-alloy steel. High Cr and Ni content compensates for dilution from the carbon steel side. Also used for buffer layer in stainless cladding overlays. Low carbon to minimise sensitisation.
Correct selection for stainless-to-carbon butt joints. Do not substitute E308L — E309L accounts for base metal dilution.
