Welding, Cutting & Surface Preparation — Welding Consumables
Hardfacing Electrode Chromium Carbide, 3.2 mm, 3.5 kg Box
Chromium carbide hardfacing electrode for extreme abrasion resistance on wear plates, bucket lips, and cutting edges.
Product Overview
High chromium carbide SMAW hardfacing electrode depositing a Cr-Fe-C alloy with primary chromium carbide precipitates. Hardness 55–60 HRC. For resistance to severe abrasion by hard minerals. Not suitable for impact loading — check-cracking is normal and expected in deposit. Apply by SMAW on carbon and low-alloy substrates.
Check-cracking (stress relief cracking) is normal. Do not use in high-impact applications — specify manganese steel grade for impact. Preheat substrate to 150–200°C to minimise underbead cracking.
