Stellite 6 cobalt-chromium-tungsten PTA powder for hard wear-resistant seat and trim overlays on valves and pump impellers.
Product Overview
Gas-atomised Stellite 6 (Co-28Cr-4.5W-1.1C) spherical powder for PTA deposition. Hardness 36–42 HRC. Excellent galling resistance and retained hardness at elevated temperature (up to 800°C). Primary application: valve seat hardfacing (gate, globe, check) for steam, hydrocarbon, and slurry service per API 600 and API 602. Also used on pump impeller wear rings and bearing surfaces.
Confirm compatibility with weld procedure qualification. API 600 specifies Stellite Grade 6 equivalent for gate valve seat and wedge facing. Preheat carbon steel substrate 200–300°C.
